As an honorary Rwandese babe, I have taken it upon myself to give you my top 5 recommendations for restaurants in Kigali. Let me preface this by saying, I absolutely love the country of Rwanda. I mean, the atmosphere, the cleanliness, the people, it’s honestly giving African luxury. I have been to the country a handful of times, and I have never left disappointed.

If you are looking for a new spot to have a Cleanly December (because not every December must be Detty), Rwanda is your girl.
I will be rating each restaurant based on taste, the general ambiance of the venue, the quality of the service received and the restaurant’s price to quality ratio.

1. Inka Steakhouse Grill

23QW+M4M, KG 605 St,
Kigali, Rwanda

Inka Steakhouse and Grill is in the Rugando area of Kigali. I have been here at least four times already because it is one of my tried-and-true spots. Inka provides a premium steakhouse experience with its clear-cut steak guide, and sis, if you are eating anything below medium well you would be better off just chewing the tires off your car.
Inka is a bit more on the pricey side, but honestly, you do get what you pay for. The restaurant is open for brunch, lunch, dinner, and drinks, if you are feeling a bit spicy. The restaurant also provides gluten-free options for the celiac girls or the girls who are simply trying to stay snatched.

2. Choma’d Bar & Grill

13 KG 624 St,
Kigali, Rwanda

Choma’d is located in the Rugando area of Kigali. This restaurant serves up some American food, African, Barbecue and grilled eats. Choma’d is open for lunch, dinner, brunch, and drinks. Let me tell you, these people know how to make a drink! When I went, I ordered a Tequila Sunrise and even though I asked them to go light on the alcohol, the tequila was still tequilaing (which isn’t necessarily the worst thing).
I would definitely recommend this place for grabbing drinks with a friend after a busy week because as I said, they know how to make a drink.

3. Pastissiere Royale

KN 14 Ave,
Kigali, Rwanda

Patissiere Royal is located in the Kimihurura area of Kigali. This spot gives more of a café/bakery vibe which does not take away from the experience at all. The prices were a little bit above average but overall a great experience.

4. The Hut

23RV+P8H, KG 646 St,
Kigali, Rwanda

The Hut is a vegetarian, vegan and gluten-friendly restaurant located in the Rugando area of Kigali. At first, the service here was not giving what it was supposed to give, however, it got better as time progressed. The portions are absolutely ginormous and at the price point, it was such a steal. The drinks were also the perfect alcohol to juice ratio which is rare in Kigali (IYKYK).

5. Kurry Kingdom

House No.24, KG 5 Ave,
Kigali, Rwanda

Kurry Kingdom is a fine dining Indian restaurant nestled in the Kacyiru area of Kigali, right off KG 5 Ave. Kurry Kingdom triples as a bar, café and restaurant. They serve lunch dinner and drinks.
A highlight of this place for me was the fact that they were willing to accommodate my mother by preparing a meal for her that was not on the menu, it was honestly giving private chef. This is a testament to the tremendous service provided at Kurry Kingdom! My one tip would be to not get the mash potatoes here because it was giving confusion (who orders mashed potatoes at an Indian spot anyways).
