I recently visited Abuja for the first time, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! While the nightlife is great, there are so many activities to enjoy during the day. If you’re planning a trip to Nigeria’s capital, here are five things to do in Abuja that are perfect for everyone, whether you’re going solo or with family and friends.

1. Explore Africa’s First Digital Museum: Discovery Museum

One of my favorite stops was the Discovery Museum, Africa’s first digital museum! Located in the Art Tech District, this place beautifully showcases Nigeria’s art, tech, and history. I highly recommend booking a guided tour—it’s an immersive experience that gives you a deep dive into Nigeria’s cultural heritage. I learned so much and was impressed by how well everything was curated.

2. Visit Truck Central for a Unique Food Truck Experience

You’ve probably heard of food trucks, but have you heard of a food truck park? Truck Central is exactly that—a collection of diverse food trucks where people come to eat, socialize, and enjoy various activities. I went on a Wednesday, which happens to be Karaoke night (so much fun!), but they’ve also got Movie night on Thursdays, live bands on weekends, and even a games night. It’s the perfect place to chill and try different food in one spot!

3. Reconnect with Your Inner Child at Magic Land

If you’re like me and love a good amusement park, Magic Land is for you! This spot is packed with fun rides, an arcade, and even mini rollercoasters to get your adrenaline going. It’s a great place to relive your childhood memories while having a blast with friends or family. Whether you’re into arcade games or just want to go on a few rides, Magic Land has you covered.

4. Spend a Day at Central Park

Central Park is one of Abuja’s most beloved parks, and for good reason. With free entry and a wide range of activities, it’s perfect for families or anyone looking to spend a fun day outdoors. You can bike, go go-karting, play mini golf, bounce on the trampoline, visit the waterpark, or even get competitive with paintball. There’s something for everyone, so grab your friends or family and head over for a day of adventure.

5. Try Local Abuja Cuisine

If you’ve spent most of your time in Lagos like me, Abuja will introduce you to some new and delicious dishes. Be sure to try local favorites like masa, suya, kilishi and danbu nama. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you! Exploring new foods is one of the best ways to get a feel for a place, and Abuja’s food scene does not disappoint.

So, which one are you trying first? Let me know!
